Another great Brazilian CD coming out next month on Rock Symphony: "Triz", first solo album by ex-Turangalila Alexandre "Alexl" Loureiro.
One of the most inventive bands from the Rio de Janeiro prog scene in the early 90s, Turangalila left no register whatsoever, except for the memories of the spectators of their only concert in the extinct Psicose nightclub. Fortunately, the end of the band didn't also mean that their members gave up on music. After Louis Lancaster's surprising new group Zumbi do Mato, it's time for Alexl (artistic name of Alexandre Loureiro) to make his mark on the progressive and Brazilian popular music world with a debut CD filled with moments of genius. With a great artwork signed by Bernard, the CD is a masterpiece of arrangements and musicianship. Flutes, cellos, keyboards, good vocals and great Portuguese lyrics: all this mixed with Gentle Giant, King Crimson, folk music and Zappa influences, among others. Simply amazing stuff: another proof of inteligent life in the planet. Don't miss this new pearl of Brazilian progressive music!
